Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage!

Our Early Foundation Stage comprises of two reception classes.

R1

R2

We hope your child is settled and enjoying the start of their school year. We love getting to know our new learners and we cannot wait to see their journey through their first year at Woodfall. Please read the learning log uploaded to Google Classroom on your Reception child's class page at the end of each week.  These will keep you up to date with any important events.  They will also inform you of what we have learnt over the week and what we will be embarking on in the next week.  They also contain useful reminders for you and your family to note down for future support for your child within their learning. Other resources will be added to your child's class page so you have a bank of ideas, support and resources to hand. 

Each week our Reception children split into their phonics teams and learn new phonemes (letter sounds) each week. We learn how to join (blend) these letter sounds together to read and how we segment the sounds in words to write. We also have a number and solve focus within the week and our continuous provision encompasses both English and Number goals.

Keep an eye out for what our new Foundation Stage 2 children have been up to within their learning through play.
