On 4th June 2019, Woodfall Primary and Nursery School were delighted to launch their sustainable palm oil campaign. Our enthusiastic children presented magnificent displays and inspiring speeches to encourage the businesses and people of the local community to use sustainable palm oil. Year 6 children wrote letters and invitations to local businesses inviting them to attend the event.
All Woodfall ask you to do is make one change! We would like as many businesses in the local area to get involved and sign up to join us. All we ask is you to contact the school via: firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more or Make your pledge to join us Here
The initiative is part of Chester Zoo’s campaign to help protect South East Asian rainforests, which are being wiped out by the spread of oil palm plantations. The oil is used in thousands of household products such as convenience foods, cleaning materials and cosmetics, and demand is growing. Orangutans are among many species being pushed to the brink of extinction through loss of habitat.
Earlier this year Chester was officially declared the World’s first Sustainable Palm Oil City in collaboration with Chester Zoo.
Now it’s our turn!!!
